Felt good to be using a brush again. Life has been a bit hectic with trying to balance my #tattooapprenticeship and freelance life. So I’m stoked to take the week off to focus on freelance and work on new #tattooflash
But hey…THIS VIDEO will probably be boring to most people unless you’re an #artdork. To me seeing an artist’s process is #porn to me. Same with seeing an artist’s #sketchbook #coughcough Being able to see how and why an artist does a certain technique is what #makesmyjeanstight I grew up during a time where talking to an artist I admired meant I’d have to find them at a convention or art show and nervously string a sentence together. So instead I read every interview I could find. Bought their art and sketchbooks #nudgenudgewinkwink and tried to dissect their process to better understand how I could try the same techniques. I can’t really explain how to ink with a brush but I can show you. See how boring it is?!

#inking a new piece. Feels good and also terrifying to be inking again. I’ve spent the past few months with a tattoo machine in my hand. It took me a bit to remember how I set up my workspace for inking. I don’t know why, but I always stress out while starting a new piece. I’ve done this stuff a million times yet I still psyche myself out. Happy to be working on something new. Listening to #SecretHistoryOfTwinPeaks so stoked! So much conspiracy!! So much backstory on the characters. I also got a bottle of wine and I’ll be doing fine tonight.

Ok, enough #dorking out…

I thought it would be fun to take a #soldout sketchbook I made a million years ago and make it available for free to anyone that cares to check it out. Most of the people who owned the print copy are probably dead now anyways. Booze and junkfood have kept me alive longer than my friends or enemies. #poorPeter #Igotyouzischicken

It’s weird for me to see this stuff again. Fuck I’m shocked I still had the files! A collector inquired about purchasing one of my actual #sketchbooks and I went through the arduous task of scanning, then giving up scanning, then photographing most of them for the collector to choose from. That got me thinking about some of the sold out sketchbooks I used to make and sell at #conventions.
